The responsibility for the conditions where the vast majority of US deaths happened was in the hands of local and state officials because we don't have a centralized controlled communist government like China. This fantasy that the federal government had some sort of magical control over state governors should have been put to rest by what's actually happened in the last year. So yes, those state governors should have handled things better.
Bring up NY and nursing homes and Avoid the miss/under counting in FLA. Don't know for sure if that counts as a "straw man" but if not it isn't far off.

So you think those governors for the most part weren't taking their marching orders from a guy , a guy that was spouting off many controversial, nonscientific things daily? Hell, they still are and you know it. I don't.

Does anybody here know for how long after injection do the mRNA "vaccines" crank out the viral spike protein?
As per usual, there is a lot of anti-vaxx misinformation being spread.

https://www.aap.com.au/toxic-spike-protein-claims-misinterpret-vaccine-study/
Adam Ratner, a paediatric infectious disease specialist at NYU Langone Health, told Associated Press that Dr Bridle’s analysis of the research is “completely inaccurate” and vaccines are mostly concentrated at the site of injection or the local lymph nodes.

“There is no spike protein in the vaccines first of all. The amounts that are made after the mRNA is injected are very small and it almost exclusively stays locally. It is nowhere near the amount he was talking about,” Dr Ratner said.

US fact checking website Health Feedback, which uses experts to verify claims about health science, said Dr Bridle’s statement “rests on the assumption that if the viral spike protein causes cardiovascular toxicity in COVID-19 patients, the spike protein produced in vaccinated people should be toxic as well”.

However, Health Feedback said this assumption was incorrect: “While both mRNA vaccines and viral vector vaccines carry the instructions to produce the entire spike protein, the cells break down much of the protein into small fragments. Furthermore, unlike infection, the spike protein from COVID-19 vaccination doesn’t get assembled into new viral particles.”

Prof Munro told AAP FactCheck that mRNA vaccines were “proving to be incredibly effective and safe” in protecting both the recipients and others from COVID-19, backing up clinical trials which “consistently demonstrated an excellent safety profile”.
THE VERDICT
Claims about “toxic” spike proteins spreading into the bloodstream and organs are based on a misinterpretation of a legitimate scientific study looking at the circulation of vaccine antigens. A co-author of that study has told AAP FactCheck that the results do not reveal any cause for alarm and in fact showed that the vaccine was working as intended.

Multiple vaccine experts in Australia and the US agree the study has been misunderstood or misconstrued, and that it does not show mRNA vaccines will cause harm.

False – Content that has no basis in fact.

Nearly every new Covid-19 death is now entirely preventable, CDC director says
"Covid-19 vaccines are available for everyone ages 12 and up," US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said Tuesday at a White House briefing. "They are nearly 100% effective against severe disease and death -- meaning nearly every death due to Covid-19 is particularly tragic, because nearly every death, especially among adults, due to Covid-19 is at this point entirely preventable."

According to that study linked to in NSA's post the average for detection was 15 days for 23% of the participants. And for some it was up to 30 days while others it didn't even register on the meter.

In any case, antibodies are being produced so it does appear to be working. (The actual number of spike proteins needed to trigger an immunological response isn't much anyway.)

Cannot help but wonder just how much of this source of misinformation has been promulgated by foreign actors. With our current "information age" the public is being inundated by intentional misinformation in attempts to sway peoples outlook and instill mistrust.

Much of it is home grown.

I would only say, take a few second to think hard about what's happening, if you value your life and health, get vaccinated.

A coronavirus outbreak hit a Florida government building. Two people are dead but a vaccinated employee wasn't infected
Of the six people infected, five were hospitalized. One employee who was in the hospital died and another employee who was not hospitalized also died, Hopes told CNN's Erin Burnett.
The only exposed employee in the IT office who was vaccinated did not get infected, Hopes said.
Vaccinated employee, Great, now I have to do their work too. :(

ABSTRACT
The origin and early spread of SARS-CoV-2 remains shrouded in mystery. Here I identify a data set containing SARS-CoV-2 sequences from early in the Wuhan epidemic that has been deleted from the NIH’s Sequence Read Archive. I recover the deleted files from the Google Cloud, and reconstruct partial sequences of 13 early epidemic viruses. Phylogenetic analysis of these sequences in the context of carefully annotated existing data suggests that the Huanan Seafood Market sequences that are the focus of the joint WHO-China report are not fully representative of the viruses in Wuhan early in the epidemic. Instead, the progenitor of known SARS-CoV-2 sequences likely contained three mutations relative to the market viruses that made it more similar to SARS-CoV-2’s bat coronavirus relatives.

From NYTIMES:
The genetic sequences of viral samples hold crucial clues about how SARS-CoV-2 shifted to our species from another animal, most likely a bat. Most precious of all are sequences from early in the pandemic, because they take scientists closer to the original spillover event. As [Jesse Bloom, a virologist at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center who wrote the new report] was reviewing what genetic data had been published by various research groups, he came across a March 2020 study with a spreadsheet that included information on 241 genetic sequences collected by scientists at Wuhan University. The spreadsheet indicated that the scientists had uploaded the sequences to an online database called the Sequence Read Archive, managed by the U.S. government's National Library of Medicine. But when Dr. Bloom looked for the Wuhan sequences in the database earlier this month, his only result was "no item found." Puzzled, he went back to the spreadsheet for any further clues. It indicated that the 241 sequences had been collected by a scientist named Aisi Fu at Renmin Hospital in Wuhan. Searching medical literature, Dr. Bloom eventually found another study posted online in March 2020 by Dr. Fu and colleagues, describing a new experimental test for SARS-CoV-2. The Chinese scientists published it in a scientific journal three months later. In that study, the scientists wrote that they had looked at 45 samples from nasal swabs taken "from outpatients with suspected Covid-19 early in the epidemic." They then searched for a portion of SARS-CoV-2's genetic material in the swabs. The researchers did not publish the actual sequences of the genes they fished out of the samples. Instead, they only published some mutations in the viruses.
...
"This suggests, he said, that by the time SARS-CoV-2 reached the market, it had been circulating for awhile in Wuhan or beyond."
https://www.fr24news.com/a/2021/06/...es-that-had-been-mysteriously-suppressed.html
Some scientists are skeptical that there is anything sinister behind the removal of the footage. “I don’t really understand how this indicates a cover-up,” said Stephen Goldstein, a virologist at the University of Utah.

Dr Goldstein noted that the test document listed the individual mutations the Wuhan researchers found in their tests. Although the full footage is no longer in the archives, key information has been public for over a year, he said. It was simply stored in a format difficult for researchers to find.

“We all missed this relatively obscure document,” said Dr Goldstein.

“You can’t really say why they were taken out,” Dr. Bloom admitted in an interview. “You can say that the practical consequence of removing them was that people didn’t notice they existed. He also noted that the Chinese government had ordered the destruction of a number of early samples of the virus and banned publication of articles on the coronavirus without its approval.

My comment about a new dark ages wasn't only pointing to politics or fear mongering. I read a lot of things, and much of what I consider good sources are showing the primary ignorance of people today. From what kids are learning in school and able to do when they graduate to adults that should know better.
This is the reason I keep bring up a film, that many don't know about or watch. It explains many things that are happening right before our eyes and leading to what has been happening lately. It is well worth the time to watch.

Office of the Governor State of Oregon

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 21-15

RESCINDING ALL REMAINING COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS; CONTINUING STATE EFFORTS TO SUPPORT ONGOING COVID-19 VACCINATION, RESPONSE, AND RECOVERY EFFORTS

...
Because of this success and the widespread availability and uptake of safe and effective vaccines, we can take this next step and roll back restrictions here in Oregon. Effective June 30, 2021, or when the state crosses the threshold of 70% first dose vaccinations for those 18 and older, whichever is earlier, I am ending these restrictions. Specifically, as of that date, I am rescinding orders that impose mask mandates, capacity limits, expanded capacity limits that depend on vaccine verification, and physical distancing in businesses and other sectors, all of these emergency order based restrictions will end. I am ending the order imposing restrictions on higher education; I am rescinding the requirement that childcare providers must be approved as emergency childcare facilities, while continuing to offer flexibility for temporary unlicensed emergency childcares and other providers during this transition period; I am returning decision-making regarding the health and safety of students in K-12 schools to local school districts with clear direction to the Oregon Department of Education and Oregon Health Authority to provide guidance for transparent and accountable local planning process; and I am rescinding restrictions designed to ensure adequate capacity and personal protective equipment in healthcare settings.
As you can see, the feds didn't require these pandemic measures that saved lives, the state Government did.

Anderson said no one she knew at the Wuhan institute was ill toward the end of 2019. Moreover, there is a procedure for reporting symptoms that correspond with the pathogens handled in high-risk containment labs.

“If people were sick, I assume that I would have been sick—and I wasn’t,” she said. “I was tested for coronavirus in Singapore before I was vaccinated, and had never had it.”
...
Despite this, Anderson does think an investigation is needed to nail down the virus’s origin once and for all. She’s dumbfounded by the portrayal of the lab by some media outside China, and the toxic attacks on scientists that have ensued.

https://www.jnj.com/positive-new-da...riant-and-long-lasting-durability-of-response
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., July 1, 2021 – Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) (the Company) today announced data that demonstrated its single-shot COVID-19 vaccine generated strong, persistent activity against the rapidly spreading Delta variant and other highly prevalent SARS-CoV-2 viral variants. In addition, the data showed that the durability of the immune response lasted through at least eight months, the length of time evaluated to date. The two preprint study summaries have been submitted today to bioRxiv.

“Today’s newly announced studies reinforce the ability of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine to help protect the health of people globally,” said Paul Stoffels, M.D., Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chief Scientific Officer at Johnson & Johnson. “We believe that our vaccine offers durable protection against COVID-19 and elicits neutralizing activity against the Delta variant. This adds to the robust body of clinical data supporting our single-shot vaccine’s ability to protect against multiple variants of concern.”

“Current data for the eight months studied so far show that the single-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine generates a strong neutralizing antibody response that does not wane; rather, we observe an improvement over time. In addition, we observe a persistent and particularly robust, durable cellular immune response,” said Mathai Mammen, M.D., Ph.D., Global Head, Janssen Research & Development, Johnson & Johnson. “With each new dataset, we build on our solid foundation of evidence that our single-shot COVID-19 vaccine plays a critical role in ending the pandemic, which continues to evolve and pose new challenges to global health.”

Coronavirus vaccine had created two teams in America. One team, "smart or fearless" and they consider the other team's members to be "stupid or afraid".

Interestingly, 100% of Americans think they are on the "Smart or Fearless" team.

I would've named the teams as "smart and afraid" and "stupid and fearless" instead...
There's always been the 'hold my beer' team in America. No reason for that to change because of highly contagious virus. IMO we're past the point of making general public health policies for them. Mishap and misadventure will cull sufficient numbers of them by infection over time to reduce their threat to noise levels. So far the higher levels of Delta variant cases hasn't resulted in higher hospitalization or deaths in the UK so most expect that to be true here too.

https://thehill.com/policy/healthca...not-sparking-mass-hospitalizations-in-england
The delta variant is not sparking a major rise in hospitalizations in England, according to data from a Public Health England (PHE) report, giving a potential sense of hope for countries with high vaccination rates.

PHE’s weekly report, showed that hospitalizations remained stable at low rates last week even as concerns have mounted over the delta variant spreading as the dominant strain in the nation.

Data from June 21-27 documented 1.91 hospitalizations per 100,000 new cases, staying basically unchanged from the previous week’s rate of 1.92 hospitalizations per 100,000 new cases.
