Hello,

Numbers keep rising:

When is it going to stop?

Not until it gets quite a bit higher. In a typical year of the seasonal flu (though it is so highly variable that "typical" has little meaning) in the U.S. alone we have somewhere in the 200,000 confirmed (laboratory-diagnosed) cases and tens of millions of estimated infection plus 20,000 to 100,000 deaths. So either we have really dodged a bullet or we are still in the early days and have a very hard ride ahead of us -- in fact we can still have a pretty hard ride going forward and still be in the bullet-dodging category at the end of it all.

Well after a month and only one nice visit to Polynesia my sister finally is in San Diego. The really nice part is nobody on the ship got sick, no cough and not even a sniffle. I told her she was in the best possible place to be. Can't get much more isolated than a ship at sea. Then too, that isolation can also work against you. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/f...mid-coronavirus-crisis/ar-BB11Oc2j?li=BBnb7Kz , I am just glad my sister is back in the US. Especially after they were denied disembark in Hawaii.

With nothing but acey-deucey for entertainment. :)
Worst deployment ever. Left pier 12 Norfolk for the IO. After just over 100 consecutive days at sea we managed Singapore for 5 days which was great. We then went back out and 156 days later were back at pier 12 Norfolk. I was ships company but also a civilian so the money was nice but yeah, Acey Deucy forever when not working. That was the Ike's (CVN 69) second major deployment. I made the first and second and the first was a great Med Cruise. Brand new showboat and the second of the Nimitz Class.

Covid-19 is around 1.5% in the US so far and much worse elsewhere. Covid-19 is at least 25 times deadlier.
BS. We have no idea how many are/were infected but either have no/mild symptoms or don't get tested.

The epidemiology of "regular" flu has been developed over dozens of years. This bug has been around for a couple of months. It's just plain stupid to try to draw conclusions on Covid now.
