If you look at the map, except for Hubei their unrecovered active cases are beginning to trend to zero (most locals are in single or double digits now).

Is this for real? Or did they just stop testing/reporting/whatever?

Maybe they just threatened to shoot anyone who exhibits symptoms.
With all respect to the Chinese people, I must say that in my eyes the Chinese government has zero credibility.

The same could be said here in the US. The early reporting of it even being here was kept form being reported, just like China, and even the severity was until states started self reporting instead of reporting to the federals. (Inadvertent political jab removed by moderator).

I'd also like to add that the only reason I'm refraining from talking about my government is because I don't want to lose it in this forum and risk getting banned...

We're taking some pretty extreme measures for a hoax. Even Fox is treating it as something to be concerned about; they finally got to the point where they admitted their disinformation would hurt their viewers.

Here in the UK there is much emphasis on not touching your face which can spread virus from you hands into mouth, nose, or eyes.
At the risk of starting another buying panic I have the solution - it also serves as a mask.

But then the masks commonly used don't eithe as they don't seal to your face.
While true, I never said they did. The masks I mentioned in this thread were N95 which do when used properly.

EDIT: But to be clear, surgical masks can help spread infection when worn by the person who is sick. That's been standard practice at my doctor's office for years.

N95 won't do it either! The eyes may also be a route for airborne contagion. It would require a full-face respirator with the correct filter cartridge. Surgical and other mouth/nose masks are to prevent sick people from spreading contagion. They offer very little protection from it.

Has everyone gone nuts?
This morning i went to the local supermarket to buy some food/water and lo and behold the parking lot was packed even at 9am when usually find a spot right near the door of the store.
I went inside and bought some regular food but there was no gallon waters left, they were all cleaned off the shelves. For some strange reason the paper isle was also almost bare, no regular stuff like napkins and toilet paper. Almost no chicken left either. The store looked like a ghost store with all the bare shelves. Ive never seen that before in all my years in this area.
Then when i went to check out i got a big surprise. Very long lines at the checkouts. It took me at least 1/2 hour to get to the register to check out and pay for my few items, maybe 15 items.
One of the lines had about 40 people waiting in the line with their carriages. In the line i was in there was only about 5 people ahead of me but their carraiges were packed to the brim, so it still took a long time to get through as they took their items out one at a time and placed them on the conveyor.
The couple just ahead of me both had masks on.

What the heck is wrong with people?

Normally at 9am there is hardly anyone there. Last Friday i went there and the parking lot was packed to the brim. I left and went to the local fast food place.
