Read that China is now supporting a conspiracy theory that it was the US that unleashed COVID-19 on them.
There we have it. I read somewhere the virus is in fact a terrorist attack. So would that be like Terrorist against The World? Who would the terrorist be anyway? :) I am just reluctant to come to or jump to conclusions or put much stock in half the nonsense I read.

Who would "they" be? The only reason I never called you crazy was because forum rules prohibit it. So who is they and what did they do?

My opinion is that Covid-19 is a biological weapon that was accidentally or deliberately released in China and it's now spreading throughout the world.
There's one and I've seen a few more.
You can call me crazy cause I know I am. Won't hurt my feelings. Look at my user name....It says it all.
In my post I mentioned that they (China) were trying to get back at us for the tariffs placed on them.
It was hurting their market! So what better way to get back at everyone than just destroy the market.
I have to leave a lot out because of forum rules but in short:

Edited version
The USA raised duties on $200 billion of Chinese imports to 25% from 10%. China’s Commerce Ministry said it would impose “necessary countermeasures” but gave no details.

Shares of Swiss diagnostics and pharmaceutical giant Roche soared 11% after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued emergency authorization for their COVID-19 test.

These highly automated tests, which the company says are able to provide results in 3-½ hours, can be run on Roche’s fully-automated machines which are already installed in hospitals and laboratories across the U.S. and around the world.

Roche was the first company to supply tests to diagnose the coronavirus in China. The drug giant was able to lean on its experience dealing with the SARS virus outbreak which also originated in China. Speaking to CNBC in January, CEO Severin Schwan said the company’s focus was to bring the necessary diagnostic platforms and test to the point of care.

So China unleashed a global nightmare simply because they were upset with the US over tariffs imposed. That what you are claiming? So China releases a virus likely to kill more Chinese than Americans and certainly many other countries will take a much harder hit than the US. I find it interesting thet people subscribe to nonsense like this but there is no shortage of people buying The National Enquirer off tabloid shelves and they walk among us. That alone is scary, more scary than an influenza bug.

"Jan 8, 2020 - CDC estimates that influenza was associated with more than 35.5 million illnesses, more than 16.5 million medical visits, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths during the 2018–2019 influenza season". Those are just the US numbers from the seasonal flu strains. I would think if this was intentional they could have done better.

They also lined up their military on the china side ready to invade Hong Kong to put down the protest (?)

With Troop Buildup, China Sends a Stark Warning to Hong Kong

Aug 19, 2019 · By massing the troops within view of Hong Kong, the semiautonomous territory convulsed by protests, China’s Communist Party is delivering a strong warning that the use of force remains an option for Beijing. It is also a stark reminder that military power remains a bedrock of the party’s legitimacy.
That sounds a little over kill to me. Get your people in line Hong Kong or we'll do it for you!
That's how my brain interprets that. They aren't even suppose to take over for what another 49 years?
So, No I don't see where my opinion sounds to far fetched. It's just an opinion. I wouldn't put anything past China.

They had a situation where this jumped human to human, where one individual in South America contracted this and then the health care people began to die around them, they boarded a plane all who were on the plane died, then suddenly as soon as it sprang, it stopped transmission and hasn’t returned.
A Hantavirus is nasty. There is one in Northwestern New Mexico which infects someone from time to time. Usually they had cleaned up rat droppings in a barn or such place. The dust carries the virus. Doctors in New Mexico recognize it but survival is still iffy. I don't know if there are cases in New Mexico of human-to-human.

This is incredible... in just two weeks, this situation has gone from "a hoax", to a "we have everything under control" to a national emergency and the deployment of the national guard....
I never thought it was a hoax but believed it would stay localized in Asia like the other Coronavirus outbreaks.
I completely underestimated how quickly it would spread by asymptomatic carriers into world-wide older and sicker populations where the disease is a possible death sentence.

Nice having a son that works as a night stocker at Costco. No problem with supplies so far.

Truth being told, I too thought that the media was exaggerating a bit when this thing first surfaced... and maybe they were, and they themselves had no notion of its real implications. I truly hope this is the last time we have to go through something of this extent... but until certain governments learn that severe censorship is the exact opposite of an effective strategy against this phenomena, I doubt this will ever happen.

PS: I forgot to add "I'm not the least worried" between "hoax" and "everything under control"....

The rule of Great Britain ended in 1997. Hong Kong ceased to be a British Colony. In 1984 the revision was set in place. China agreed that the “current social and economic systems” and “life-style” in Hong Kong would remain the same for 50 years. Now if The Peoples Republic of China is violating the rules first it should come as surprise to no one and second it would be a matter between Great Britain and China. None of this has anything remotely to do with China starting a global pandemic intentionally. Now I know why those tabloids sell and who buys them.
