I didn't know the virus was magnetic. You learn something new everyday.

Wow, Facebook religion. I just do it at my house. I remember something about "Where two or more gather" I'll be there.
My Dad was a preacher......I know shock, Right. He always told me A church was just a building. It's the people inside that made it special.
I also own a church/building. It was passed down to me through him. But I'm no preacher/pastor. I'll leave that to those who can do it better.

My reason for asking was I seem to get dinged for doing what others, who were on the other side of that thread/experiment do quite often, with no consequences. Another member reposted a deleted post and called it "scientific" not political and got away with it. That is what I'm complaining about, uneven justice due to bias of past postings.
Welcome to the club shortbus. I used W.H.O. in this thread and was told not to go that route. That White House "whatever" was not allowed. I had to justify myself by posting that W.H.O. stood for "World Health Organization".
I didn't think quoting someone was a bad thing either. So I learnt something else not to do.

The irony: it took a deadly world-wide pandemic to make this site fun again...

I know some of you take me wrong sometimes. I mean no harm to anyone. Being a country boy things I say could be took out of context. I have no degrees in anything! I came to learn a little about electronics. I read on here everyday. But I still kinda agree with shortbus. If your only quoting someone does it really matter who that person is as long as it's relevant to the subject then it should be allowed. I never got to read what he posted before it was removed but, knowing shortbus and how long he's been here it couldn't have been that bad.

FYI In order to receive a Stimulus Check those on Social Security must file taxes w/ IRS first!
My read on this is that for those who have not filed yet they will use last year's taxes and this year's deadline has been extended.

"Eligible taxpayers who filed tax returns for either 2019 or 2018 will automatically receive an economic impact payment of up to $1,200 for individuals or $2,400 for married couples. Parents also receive $500 for each qualifying child".

This covers it in detail.

So are you asserting that discussion of electronics isn't 'fun'?

Well hey! @joeyd999, @shortbus et al. please know that I genuinely like you and very much hope you plan to 'stick around', as it were! -- That said, I respectfully encourage each of you to recall the motivation back of your decision to become members of fora dubbed: 'All About Circuits':)

Very best regards

Not when it entails the incessant "How do I light an LED?".

That stopped being fun...umm...it never was fun.
Listen to your jaded self! Have you forgotten your childhood thrill of making that crystal radio or flashing LED or myriad other projects? (Admittedly, anything with an LED was not an option when I was a kid.) That sense of accomplishment?

So, GPS sends me onto an old Naval Airstation Base. Some of the land has been developed, but the old runway is still there. I drive through a maze of roads on the base until I come upon two tents on the runway.

I’m stopped by a security guard, who stands 10’ away while asking where was I going.

He waves me on to small tent, where two gloved and masked nurses ask me to hold my license up against the window. The other nurse types something into a computer.

This is surreal because nothing other than the tents are in site. The abandoned runway is surrounded by woods.

The nurse returns and signs for me to crack the window a bit. She slides a mask in and asks me to put it on. Then waves me into the second tent, indicating that I should approach on the right.

I drive into the large tent. There are a half dozen nurses in haz mat suits. She confirms my name and tells me through the window, to roll the window down all the way and lift up the mask.

A long swab is put down my throat. The nurse tells me that we are fine and tells me to drive out of the base.

This is how a coronavirus test is administered south of Boston. I get results in 3-4 days.

Now to wait.

Indeed, there will always be vacuous inquires (of both the genuine [i.e. rank 'newbie'] and the 'trollish'/'bone idle' 'varieties') -- But then, looking back upon my 5+1/12 years' membership here, I perceive no decline in the 'gem-to-dross ratio' (Re: on-topic fora) -- Please note also that I say this as one having, as you may recall, vainly attempted to coach a 'gentlemen troll?' in elementary mathematics many hours per day over several weeks.:rolleyes:

Point being: IMO these fora are sufficiently engaging sans 'heat of emotion' --- Heaven knows we all get plenty of that 'off-line' - even in the best of times...

Very best regards
