Confused About Raspberry Pi Camera Pinout – Which Module to Use?

Hey everyone,

I was reading about Raspberry Pi camera pinouts and came across different connector types (15-pin and 22-pin). While going through the details, I got confused about which camera module is compatible with which Raspberry Pi board.

For example, if I have a Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 5, which module should I use, and do I need an adapter for certain models? I want to make sure I’m connecting everything correctly without any compatibility issues.

Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to AAC.

This is really very simple, if confusing. The table below has the information you need. You just have to choose the proper FFC (Flat Flexible Cable) for the target RPi. The camera module may of may not come with that you need but the proper one will be inexpensive and readily available.
