Before I got the adapter, I used to install drives in my tower computer. That doesn't work with laptops or small form factor computers that only have one drive connector instead of four.

The adapter is so handy that I now have 3. Misplaced the first one I bought, so I bought another. Then I found one at Goodwill for a few dollars and I decided to get another.

I used my wife's tower. Actually same here. Needed the thing and could not find it. Amazon another one. Found the first one. There is just too much stuff I have piled up. Hell I am not even sure what I have boxed in the attic but I can figure if I have not needed it for over 20 years the odds are I will never need it.

More or less what I was alluding to in #20. Mine has an actual shell as well but the same concept ==> turn it into an external drive.
