Hi everyone! Just wanted to see if anyone had ever reversed this style of princess auto compressor motor. Need it for the table saw but direction is wrong.

 

Trace the cap wires to its terminals in the end plate and one end should be connected to a winding, test continuity for the other end of the start winding, should be at the power in terminal,
Reverse the two leads that come out of the motor that established the start winding .
Better still detect the other pair that are the Run winding, and reverse those instead.

So I reversed the blue and red which reversed the motor but now it's just running off the starter cap. Then tripping out. So close though.

 

Rather than the start winding, ensure you reverse the main/run winding, it is the one with the lowest resistance of the two.

That had no effect. Didn't even try to start

 

Flip the blade and walk around to the other side of the table?

That's only partially sarcasm. I assume the nut is left/right handed to whatever direction makes sense for the direction it spins. Spin it the other way and the blade could come off. Just make sure it makes sense what you want to do, and if it makes more sense to leave it as is, do that.

I won't lie and say it hasn't crossed my mind. I think I'll work on the run windings abit first.
