Composite cable to VGA DIY?

Hi everyone, I was looking at a schematic to convert VGA to component video with an seperate csync connector. I will have to try to find the site again, but anyways, I was wondering if there was a way to reverse the process in a sense. I would like to try to go from Component RGB to VGA. The RGB is coming from a PS2, and from what I have read, Sony likes to go with SoG (sync on green) wich has both the horizontal and vertical sync's on the green line. This would make sense as there are only 3 plugs, Red, Green, and Blue. On the VGA side of things, the Red, Green, and Blue pins will connect directly up to the ones on the component side. The only problem would be stripping the sync's off the green line and then seperating them into vertical and horizontal. Oh, and I did find the site again: http://www.tkk.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/vga2rgbs.html
I guess my over all question would be how to get the Sync's off the green line and seperate them to go into the VGA connector.
Thanks
RJV

Edit: I have a pic that shows the Oscope reading of a SoG line next to a C-Sync.

so you are saying that if I can get the composite sync before it enters the green line right after the PS2, I can put that right into the Horizontal sync because in one of your pics, it says horizontal/composite sync. Do you think this will work?
Thanks
