Component Identification on Instrument Cluster

Trying to identify these two diodes for a datasheet. Looks like 8G and a sideways 6 or 9. The CR marking on the board would identify them as diodes and I believe them to be SC-70 pkg. They are used on an LED lighting circuit up to 40V on an instrument cluster back to back. Third leg does not seem to be tied to anything? In diode mode it conducts in forward bias at 0.750 V and no other connections can be made.

On this circuit board, it looks as though they are being used as diodes in the backlighting circuit. They are located two in series between a set of SMD LEDs. Around the speedo, there seems to be one in between each LED. Not sure reasoning behind it but it keeps blowing the first one. Have changed it and the LEDs on both sides but blew again. Still scratching head. Will figure it out.

I only have what I have hand drawn so far. There is no schematic for these.
Here is what I have drawn. Critics keep your voices down. I know this is not proper format. It is yet to be transcribed into a working schematic. I am blowing the two diodes on the right and the three LEDs going up on the right either blow or don't light because of insufficient voltage.
