Found another problem after talking with the mechanic today. Apparently not very common to have a problem all the way up in the console. What are we looking at here? SMD capacitor or resistor? Is it possible to clean this up and fix it or should I not bother? Not sure how many grand a replacement console would be if they even make them anymore.Snapchat-1866578644.jpg

Goes to an electric over hydraulic solenoid that has nothing to do with what I'm trying to fix. Funny thing is that I just engaged that solenoid many times today trying to find a hydraulic leak. Huh, if I applied 5V to the correct pins (which is apparently what I should be seeing at the signal wire in the back, there is 5V going in but not coming out) would I be able to trace it back to my problem?

It appears that there are two caps (I believe those are caps, you can carefully remove a good one and measure it) per pin. It looks like two adjacent caps have traces running to a pin. Two things would be very helpful:

  1. confirm if this is the case or not
  2. figure out what the other side of the cap is connected to—is it, as I suspect, the ground of the PCB?

Sorry the picture does not capture what's going on with the connector. It's a 32 pin connector, there is another set of 16 pins under what you are seeing in the picture. Every other trace goes between the pins you can see to get to the back (bottom) set.
