Help, can I combine the two 12v DC output on a power bank into one 24v DC output?

Hi I have a tennis serving machine which requires 24V/5A power. I have a power bank which has TWO 12v/10A DC outputs. Can I combine the two with a splitter cable into ONE 24V DC output? Thank you so much for any help on this.

The answer is No! You will need 2 separate power banks. Look on ebay for a 24V 5A power supply. Plenty out there!

I agree about not connecting the two outputs in series. They probably have the same ground so connecting them in series would not be possible. It MIGHT be possible to take the two 12V outputs and feed them through schottky diodes to a 24V output boost converter.

Trying to make that horse fly will never get off the ground. Using that splitter won't work. If you try you'll end up shorting out your power supply, possibly ruining it permanently. Unless you know how to repair power supplies; which from the nature of your question one would have to assume you're not at that skill level.

Either two entirely separate 12V supplies OR one 24V supply.

Unless these two outputs are completely isolated, attempting to use that splitter will likely short out the supply.

More than likely (read almost certainly) those two 12 volt outputs are in parallel from the same 12 volt source. Connecting them in "series" will place a dead short across the battery. This is definitely NOT a good thing.

The verification would be simple to do, and verify what all of the guesses are assuming. Just get a 12 volt test light and very carefully probe between the negative connection on one of the connections and the center positive of the other. If the light illuminates then they are simply parallel connections to a single 12 volt source, and can not be connected in series. That is my guess based on the power packs I have investigated. The check procedure will provide positive verification of that.

Not only are the probably just two jacks for the same power source, the 10A is probably the max for both combined.

So just remove the single 12 volt battery and replace it with two smaller 12 volt batteries. OR get another power pack like this one and then put two in series. OR, better yet, tap into the tennis court lighting feed and us a 24 volt mains powered supply.

OOPS!! Wrong thread!
