Been sitting on a couple of questions and just cant seen to figure them out. If someone could explain them that would be great20191112_221744.jpg20191112_221015.jpg20191112_220821.jpg

Hi... Maybe me too don't understand but think about this :

Perhaps can assume L2 is 0 volts and L1 is 120V

In 1st image, circuit 4, after closing switch, the voltage at point C with respect to L2 (L2 is 0v) is 0v....So there is no voltage drop across the bulb

But if there is no voltage drop across the bulb then how will it turn on?

If there is no voltage drop then can assume current is not flowing?

but if the switch is really closed then why should current not flow?

First question on circuit #4. Is the circled response your tentative response or what is presumed to be the correct answer.

If it is your answer, then explain how a lamp will light with 0 voltage across its terminals? (Are responses B and c different?) Is there any alternative response that explains the observation?

For each question, determine what you believe the measured voltage will be for each circuit and explain your reasoning. Then we can help you understand whether your reasoning is sound or not and how to improve it, if needed.
