I can not design electronics what so ever. I built this circuit and put a bigger scr and it worked very well, the scr does not even get warm. I need to run another motor dc permanent magnet. It's voltage is 24volts dc. The diac breakover is way to high, can a scs or bilateral switch work for what I need, and can any show me how to wire or hook it up?

I don't think this is the best way to control a 24V DC motor. Maybe use a AC/DC 24V supply and a motorcontroller? Or a AC/DC supply with ein variable ouput supply of 0-24VDC.

If you want to use the same circuit and hardware, replace that diode bridge with the primary of a 120 volt to 24 volt transformer rated for enough current to power the motor. Then connect that diode bridge to the 24 volt output of the transformer. Speed control will not be good, but on/off will work quite well.

That's is what I needed, you guy's summed it up in a nut shell I like the variable supply best. I have already checked, they are very reasonable priced too. I appreciate all of you for responding to my help needed.
