I feel like an idiot asking for this, since this isn't an overly complex circuit. But in reviewing for finals ... this is the one circuit that seems to be kickin' my butt (I missed it on a test ... and want to be prepared in case a similar circuit surfaces on the final). I've been through the lesson pages here ... my notes ... my text ... and something just isn't clicking ... that LED is really throwing me for a loop.

Sorry ... my little pea brain is fried ... that virtual diode was supposed to be an LED ... file has been updated.

What is the question?

 

What is a virtual diode? Or is that the LED? What calculations have you made about the circuit?

 

And how about the circuit schematic? Can you post one? Or is this a conceptual question, so to speak?
