hello everybody,

can any tell me who makes this chip? TCL-M8A01 87CK38N-3676
this chip is on board a TCL tv set.

It's a Toshiba 8-bit micro. You might need to buy the correct ROM data with the IC. The TCL string identifies the correct ROM version (manufacturer specific).

Ask your usual supplier if they stock one or if you could order one. Another possibility is to search online for a supplier that stocks the correct IC with ROM.

If you can extract the ROM binary out, you could buy a blank replacement chip, otherwise you have to get the ROM binary too. I don't think Toshiba or TCL will deal with individual buyer, but you could always ask them for a supplier nearest to you.

Toshiba won't have the ROM binary, TCL will. Most suppliers out there obtained the ROM binary through extraction and not from TCL. So they could burn cheap blank Tosh chips themselves.
