I go to use Chat GPT now and after it gives a reply you can click on the Speaker Icon under it and it will read the reply.

I asked it if it can read in a Female Australian Accent and the reply say yes it can.

Then it reads with the same Male Voice.

I'm happy to be corrected, but I doubt you can, unless there is an option to use a different locale. ChatGPT is quite capable of generating fiction. Also, just because it says it can do something doesn't necessarily mean it will do it.

Or that it actually can do it -- as you noted, it is quite capable of generating fiction.

 

To change the voice, specify the desired accent in your request. For instance, you can say "can you read this in a female australian accent?"

 

Perhaps it is simply being literal. You asked it if it could, and it answered the question. You did not ask it to change its voice.
