Changing USB Powered Security Cameras to AC 120

OK, I realize now that I missed that statement the first time thru.
I also missed the part as to just what sort of location the camers will be located in.
Besides all of that, I see no mention as to if the cameras will be inside or outside, or if they are even weather-resistant, much less weather-proof. I was recently asked if I would install security cameras on the outside brick wall of the home of an individual who was obviously fixated about appearances. YES, I could see the way to do it, but I declined because the description of the project kept changing.
What folks do not realize is that every security device that uses a wireless connection is subject to wireless JAMMING. All it takes is a moderate power BROADBAND NOISE SOURCE TRANSMITTER!! While any transmitter is certainly tracable, the bad-actors will only be transmitting their signal to cover thier actions, so it is very unlikely that there will even be a complaint presented by the time the bad-guys have done their thing and departed.
 
The conversation has been around replacing existing flood lights, likely outside. One post shows an exterior flood lamp using LED's as a light source WITH a camera mounted directly on the flood. It's unclear to me if the TS has such flood lights or is trying to make their own version of a camera and flood light. The Lorex camera spoken of is USB powered. If it were a complete unit then I would assume the Wifi camera and flood would be one completely self contained unit. No need for USB power. But as yet I haven't seen anything that is definitive. So we ask. And wait. I don't even know if the built in flood on the camera is white light or infrared. That has not been clearly stated thus far. At least not that I recall reading.
 
This is where I'm stuck:
I have video cameras that run on USB power, but the factory USB cable is much longer than I need. The Lorex cameras I’m using have built‑in floodlights, and I want to install them in the same locations where my existing floodlights are mounted. That means removing the old floodlights and powering the Lorex cameras from the same AC wiring that currently feeds those fixtures.
The cameras the TS has comes with a 12 foot USB cable but he wants to shorten it drastically. In question (in my mind) is whether it's weather exposed or weatherproof. If weatherproof then the module Ya’akov (post #12) recommended would likely do the job, provided there's room for it in the electrical box. Also of which we don't know if they're weather proof or exposed. NOR do we know if it's constant powered or switch controlled AC.
 
At our local variety store there are MANY lengths of USB cables for sale, both long and SHORT. And many of them cost less than an uninstalled USB connector. So there is another possible option..
ONEMORE THING: I am not aware of there existing any weahter-proof USB connector. In fact, I have not seen even dust resistant USB connectors mentioned anywhere. Of course, if the installation is not outside that does not matter.
I have actually tried to repair a damaged USB cable for a friend,with only "sort ot" success. The cable had four wires with very tough insulation protecting very fine stranded copper conductors that looked like about #30 wire size (the total conductor size, not the strands). Certainly all of the cable's strength is in the insulation. Other cables may differ.
My point is that connecting to a USB cable may be very challenging.

OK, there is such an item existing. BUT I have not seen one, nor any catalog/line card listing. So it is "a good product not generally available." Like the similar RJ45 connectors in the MS connector housing. Neither common nor cheap.
So I am corrected! Thanks for furthering my education!
I am guessing that none of those connectors shown in that link are available for less than $20 USD in single quantities. And I am also doubting that the camera mentioned in this thread is equipped wirh anything like that.
 
In the MIL industry, these are industry-standard components. $240 USD each, a stock item at TTI / Mouser. Digi-Key has a surprisingly large 38999 inventory, including fiber optics, but no USB in stock. As I said, not small, not cheap.

For smaller and cheaper, Switchcraft has several lines of waterproof connectors (mostly aimed at watercraft), and AMP has all-plastic 38999-ish parts. I don't think either of them does USB, but I've been out of the game for a while.

Back on topic: Small and waterproof is a tough combination, almost mutually exclusive. If weather is a real problem, you will have to go with standard connectors inside the wiring box, and do the weatherproofing at the enclosure level, such as a strip gasket around the edge of the panel (if this is a standard 4x4 wiring box).

I was the one who brought up weatherproof concerns. We have yet to hear from the TS (Thread Starter if you don't know what TS means) if this is going to be an outdoor product. It seems reasonable to me but a reasonable assumption is still an assumption.

I have three Wyzecams in outdoor duty. All are USB powered and have been working fine for years. But, all are installed under eaves and while they may get wet during a storm, their connections are protected from "flooding" and can drain easily. Two of the cameras have USB C connectors that include a flexible sleeve that improves protection of the connection. Not likely water-"proof" but highly resistant.
