Of course it is, but we are not discussing small signal processing circuits. The "follower" circuit function is independent of any specific component type; it dates back at least to the 20's and has been built with just about everything. I'm not saying a follower circuit can't be built out of FETs, and FET opamps are excellent for some applications. But a power supply capacitance multiplier is not one of them. All of my comments are about the questions in post #1. The three components in that schematic really are the entire circuit, and nothing else will perform as well, with less complexity, with better stability, and with less headroom/dropout voltage, all at the same time.Is an op-amp voltage follower still a follower if the internal circuitry is FET?
