hii

im having problem in understanding that is there really something exists like the generation of diffrent signals like square pulses , triangular, sine and comparison of two signals using c .....and then taking out the output using parellel port and using some PCI cards and feding them to some hardware circuit...
is that really possible if yes please help me out how to start.....

Yes.
Get a pic, programmer, etc. perhaps a pickit. and learn to blink an led. Then make your question clearer and ask again.

I would also consider the Arduino which seems easier and cheaper for beginners.

So you want to use a PC as a function generator?

I stand under correction but I think you could do some rough signal generation with your sound card output and the right software.

Otherwise I have seen a USB audio frequency oscilloscope which also doubles up as a low frequency function generator, it will cost you a bit though.
