Can I run a Bluetooth speaker system from a car battery?

Hi there, I have a party speaker rated at 12v 2.5A. I have a 90A car battery. Can I run cables straight from the battery terminals to the input socket of the speaker without causing damage or do I need some type of resister to control the flow of amps?
Thanks for any information you could give

Resistors in that sort of application are for current limiting but your device will already only draw as much current as it requires no matter what the battery could provide so long as the voltage is correct.

In general, for a case like yours, there is never a problem if the voltage matches the requirements. If the voltage was too high it would cause the device to draw too much current resulting in something getting hotter than it should, but since the voltages match the current will be just what the speaker needs.
