Hello I have a Mag drill I would like to add a reverse to if possible, its a Rotabroach commando 40 rebranded.
Below is the wiring diagram from the manual mine is the 110volt version, and a picture of how the switching is setup and another picture showing the speed control dial.

The top switch turns the hold down magnet on, the green & Red buttons below switches the drill on off, the drill can only be switched on if the Magnet is on.

Thanks

You can reverse the wires to the armature brushes easier, you will need a double pole (dpdt) switch to give you both directions.

It will be altering the wiring that is tedious, and finding a sot to mount the switch. So before you disconnect anything investigate where the switch would go, and where the four wires can be routed. Those wires will be carrying the motor current so they will not be thin.
If you have room for all that then it is a good plan. otherwise, not.

Design Steps should be taken to ensure it will be extremely difficult to accidentally operate any reversing switch while device is already running.

Hmm ok sounding like it might not be worth doing in my situation, I appreciate the information though thank you.

With the start/stop switch being the type it is accidentally reversing is not likely. BUT finding a place to mount an adequately rated switch will probably be a big challenge. Accidental reversing is not likely as the switch will be distant from the main switch. UNLESS you let stupid people use the tool.

Were Io do this, I would be tempted to use a small key-lock switch for the reversing action in the relay circuit.
I doubt very much that there is any relay circuit. NONE of the magnetic base drills that I have used had any relay involved. The magnet switch had a second pole that powered the drill motor feed. That handled the interlocking quite well. And the drill switch looks like a standard two button ON/OFF switch, not a set of buttons for a start/stop relay circuit.
