Can a Schematic be pulled from a Gerber PCB File?

Can a Schematic be pulled from a Gerber PCB File. I know the board I had made is correct, but the actual schematic has been lost by someone in my group. The schematic I have for my project does not match the board in any way, so obviously an update has been lost.
Thank you in advance for any help!!

Not using an automated method.
Gerber files do not contain specific device information that defines connectivity. It just artwork.
Its quicker to obtain specific device info, trace it out on the PCB (maybe a printout of the gerber file(s)), and create the schematic.

Can I separate the upper and lower pcb, and print each out, and then using the parts list then add the parts to the print out, and generate the schematic from those

If by "generate" you mean "manually create one", yes. If you have a silkscreen Gerber file, that should show part outlines and will help. But you will need specific info for each part used for populating the PCB.

Not sure so I ask: it was you who also did the last modification?

The schematic previous to the lost one, is it available so that person could go from there?

In any case the BOM and a schematic recreated initially full with placeholders seem your best chance.

No breadboard still somewhere?
