is there a way of creating happy birthday tune without microcontroller
i am asking this bcz i saw a toy which creates happy birthday tune on pressing botton but when i opened the toy there was no micorcontroller in it
i dont have the toy right now or else i would have already reversed engineered it i just wanted to know if there is way to creat that tune without microcontroller

 

How do you know there is no microcontroller?

Under the round black epoxy in the middle of this circuit board is the sound recorder/playback microcontroller chip.

There's everything from happy birthday to jingle bells from various manufacturers - fairly sure UMC do a range.

TO92 package used to be most common, nearly all are "black blob" (COB) nowadays.

No idea what's inside - AFAIK: its PWM output.
