Just went with buying both, as they are fairly cheap and figured I could just play around with them

 

So on trying to do this both ways - I sort of made some of the circuit, but cannot make the solder connection to the PCB. Also yesterday i learned I have no dexterity, and a lot more mild burns on my hands and solder vapour in my lungs.

Sort of circuit (as drawn up by iimagine) below, that i think is right, but like i said, the connections to and form the PCB i can't make. Also i'm pretty sure that magnetic switch has the world's weakest magnets

In terms of using the micro switch - What would I use to connect the solder to the PCB pins, preferably easily and painlessly and with as minimal soldering as possible. I found the dupont connectors that were recommended, but these only look like they'd attach to the PCB pin, not to the battery line

Additionally, I bought a battery holder for 2x 3V watch batteries, should this be fine, as oppose to a 1x variant?
