The Flyback diode diode shorts the inductive kick from motor winding as it cycles off, it should be as close as possible to the actual source of induced energy.

 

By the look of your schematic it consists largely of I/O terminations, with the exception of the semiconductor this could be done with just a proper terminal strip.
No real need for any circuit board, not of any significance at least.

Ditto on SchmartPatch.

SchmartBoard (https://schmartboard.com/surface-mount-boards/) makes small grooves that helps align those fine pitch devices (e.g. FPGA) that still have visible pins. It even provides a large center hole to hep solder those unreachable center pads on some devices.
