If an electrical system contains enough electrons to be self supporting, meaning that none are needed from ground. Why does a transformer need to have the neutral or XO bonded to ground to keep the voltage from floating? The reason I ask this question is I feel that an electrical system uses the earth for electrons to maintain the voltage/pressure in the system.

Yes, the electrical system doesn't need earth to supply electrons.
All the electrons needed are already in the conductors.
The transformer is grounded for safety, to avoid the electrical system from developing dangerous static voltages above ground neutral.
