I'd really love to get a reliable BLDC FOC controller, and at the same time not break the bank with it.
Motor: BLDC 72V 3kW sensored
Where and how should I even start to look for one?
How do I avoid poorly designed controllers?
What are some known good brands for BLDC FOC controllers?
I'd really love to hear your input on this. Thanks.

I'm definitely no expert in this, but can a sensored BLDC be run this way? I hope this isn't your first project in this type of thing, because it won't be easy.

Yes, FOC is one of the ways you can drive a BLDC, I had a FOC controller from Sabvotron, but it was crappy and broke.

I use Advanced Motion Controls drive devices for the majority of my BLDC servo projects, they have a high current one that takes either 1ph or 3ph supply, may be worth checking out their site.
Often used ones come up on Ebay etc.

Would you mind sharing some of the links/controller names for the ones you found? I can't find anything good for the life of me
I just did a Google search on "BLDC FOC Controllers". I did not notice, the first time I looked, that all the pictures came from the same place, and I don't recommend doing business with them.
