Bi-directional dc-dc converter for supercapacitor

My advice use a better controller that is intended for bidirectional function (ex LTC3871) otherwise you will have to add a lot of junk circuitry to make it work. As to topologies I would look into a synchronous buck converter, the two switches also allow for it to act as a synchronous boost converter the other way.

The thing is that i have been provided with just 2 ic pwm controllers the tl494 and the sg3524 for this project. picked the sg3524 because of its shutdown pin. attached to this reply is the schematics and values of the input and output filter capacitors, the inductor as well. for the power stage.

i can't make the sg3524 work properly.
