Hi

Is there a schematic for a LiPo balance charger circuit ? Can it be simulated on LT-Spice ?

I want to understand Battery chargers better, could someone provide answers or suggest a resource to following questions
1)Why does Battery chemistry matter)
2)How can we set the max charge rate ? (What are consequences of charging fast)
3) Can charging and discharging happen simultaneously ?

I want the output of a 3 phase synchronous rectifier to be the input to the balance charger. Are there any precautions i should incorporate ?

Ask your self one thing would you light a bomb, And hold it bet not
Don't make a charger for these they use chips made for this.

Im not saying you couldn't make one I'm saying if your just asking here you need to google
1 2 and 3 of what you ask these batteries are no joke. They can kill you. Or set you on fire.

Read up on these

And read this one it has a Ltspice links on the page for a chip

Each battery chemistry requires a different charge technique to safely charge the battery.
Use the wrong technique and bad things can happen.

Absolutely...

The attached is not a balance charging circuit but demonstrates an LTSpice simulation of a TP4056 LiPo charger.

Hi eetech00, i am trying to simulate a li ion charger but i can´t do a good model from li-ion battery, i see this post of you in 2013 and it is very good the model you use. I don´t understand very well what you do, can you help me with the model of the li-ion battery?
Thank you.

Welcome to AAC!
Watching a sim of a battery charging, when using an accurate model, is rather like watching paint dry. For most charging sims it is quicker and easier to get results if you simply model the battery as a high value capacitor, e.g. 1 Farad (written as 1, not 1F !!) and use the .ic directive to set its initial voltage at a convenient value.

Thank you, and it is a plesure to be here.
I do what you say, but i want a more realistic behavior, and the simulation shown by eetech00 is fantastic, and i like that my simulations will be as good as there.
