I have a question for the board...

I recently purchased an Arduino Atmega328 Board. This is programmed with what seems to be C. I don't know C, but i Do know how to code with BASIC. IS there any way to say, write code in BASIC and somehow convert it into C before it's written to the chip?'


If so, will this work for Java Code as well?

My interests receently are Programmable MCU's and I was thinking of useing Java to write a few apps for my Google G1.

 

Programming in C-language is a really good skill to acquire. It is not terribly difficult and there are a number of good sources on the Internet that you can use to help you overcome any snags you might encounter.

Maybe this is a good time for you to use the Arduino board as an opportunity to get acquainted with C.

There are BASIC compilers for the AVR series, ranging from $50 to $500. They do NOT produce C output, but usually an assembly listing and the binary to load onto the uC.

If you are determined to learn C, start with the Arduino, which hides a lot of the 'harder parts'.
