while making a Balun (input single Ended / output Differential); should the center tapped be AC grounded or DC grounded? I searched for different post but there only ground is discussed not mentioned about its type.

Thanks

Depends upon what load you are driving with the balun.
Does it have any DC voltage?
Hi Crutschow

thanks for your kind reply

a) the differential load is 200ohm and i am not using any DC voltage.
b) What if i use the center tapped terminal to provide the Bias?
c) how can we estimate the size of balun before matching (eg. let design freq is 40G)?

dear crutschow

thanks for your kind reply.

I am facing issue while making the matching circuit for differential side. i am using differential port (with 200 ohm load). I find the matching component values for S22 ---> 200 ohm but how i will decide component values for differential o/p. The snap is attached for easy reference (i checked the link https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/36686/impedance-matching-differential-signals , but this technique didn't work)

thanks

I may be wrong but I think the values yoiu are looking at are not components but, paracitic values for the cable, which will be in its data sheet...
Am I missing something?
