Ok, Les, I have uploaded the solder print. I could not fully separate it as there is a button to adjust the light intensity and that can't be pushed out. Now I am going to connect the relay as Anniel said.

Anniel!!!!!!!!!!! It works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I connected the pins and the actuator went out

Then I swapped + and - of the actuator and it went in

But I had to swap the + and -

Maybe yes but then I would have to cut the power which is on pin 8 and the clips are too wobbly. Normally this pin gets the power from the photo cell. I understand that when the photo cell goes to sleep there is no more power flowing that way but because there is power coming from another pin it then reverses. So the door opens and closes.

It could be that I now have to connect the red/black/green from the cell differently but Les is having a look at the soldering points for that.

Still, for the first time I got power from the relay that DOES go to the actuator so I am really excited!

Yes I do.

I also have a regular iron.

And I even have a bicycle but that's because I am Dutch.

Right, just cut the green wire off. And on the bottom I can see 4 black very, very small, diodes. They're next to each other, between the black box and the brown 'thing'.

I have to cut these out. (Pffff, do I have cutters that small?)

Pls confirm

If that works we are going to eye operations next

Now I have to solder a red wire (which I do not have). I now got a piece of green wire though, I just cut it off!

I have to solder that together with the black wire?

I read post 108 but I don't get it.

I now have one black wire dangling from a soldering point and 1 red wire dangling

No, not too fast but .......the holes are where the wires go through. I cannot solder a wire in a plastic hole. I can push a wire through a hole and solder it to the black wire point or the green (cut off now) or the red. But I can also simply split the black or red wire in 2. (if the idea was to solder a wire)
