Just use resistors, and consider the fact that it gets dimmer as the battery draws down as a feature that extends runtime and won't plunge you into darkness with no warning.

The circuit in blue is not a constant current driver, it is a current limiter circuit.

Your Lithium battery should be 4.2V when fully charged. Yours is near half-discharged (the selling and storage voltage).
