For those of us who do not understand the use of the term "asterisk", what do you mean?

To me, and probably most of us, an asterisk refers to this symbol: "*".

I think the short answer is no, but only because I have no recollection of it ever being discussed. OTOH, there is 20 years' worth of material to sift through. Have you done a search on this site yet?

 

I got FreePBX experience (runs the phones for my business).

I don't know how well that translates directly to asterisk, as I pretty much use the GUI only.
