As a follow up note... I was able to find a working HP ESA-L1500A 9kHz-1.5GHz Spectrum Analyzer on eBay by keeping an eye out and putting the search items into an email alert. Price was $250 plus shipping w/ no return. Bit of a gamble but from a well-known and reputable dealer. Very pleased with the results!
