What does the other pin'd end look like? Old plastic gets brittle but that looks easily fixable (if you want to keep the original wiring) with a sharp Exacto type knife to trim the insulation back without too much ribbon flex

15-conductor cable is not too many. I would just remove the cable entirely and run fifteen 26-AWG wires across. Or use another length of flat 0.1" ribbon cable.

I could try to reuse this cable. I'm done with the boards. I know this cable seems really stiff. I will try the knife first . I need to find a good soldering iron the 60 watt Weller broke 3rd one I have had. Maybe there is a better brand out there.

Probably using a hot soldering pencil will melt the insulation , allowing you to reconnect the cable. That is very thin solid wire and cutting the insulation with a sharp knife will result in nicks that assure it will break again.

You just need to be careful and take your damn time. I've repaired old cables on old machines like that for decades. YMMV

Got the cable cleaned and ready to try to solder it back. Knife was alot of work. These pins have like zero room super close. Going to be slow and long process soldering back
