The concern I think is more that the allotted 3.7 - 3.98 GHz bands might somehow interfere with the existing 4.2 - 4.4 GHz transmissions. I don't know if that is a fact but it is a valid question. Retrofitting systems might be cost prohibitive though. Newer 5G devices may just have to be more strictly regulated.If the radio altimeter systems have receivers that are stuffed by a 200MHz offset signal then they are unsafe today. 5G usage of the spectrum is just showing up bad RF engineering.
