Au Contraie there is an entire course in engineering devoted to wobbling called Statics and Dynamics. Metric News Magazine used to have a full-sized back page devoted to "Miss Metric" providing all the relevant measurements in Metric. It eventually created such a "NON Politically Correct" S Storm that it was eventually removed causing the demise of the publication as it was the only reason that most engineers subscribed to the free magazine.

I'm so happy the state has identified this as being dangerous.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A fight is coming to California over whether to list one of the world’s most common over-the-counter drugs as a carcinogen, echoing recent high-profile battles over things like alcohol and coffee.

The drug is acetaminophen, known outside the U.S. as paracetamol and used to treat pain and fevers. It is the basis for more than 600 prescription and over-the-counter medications for adults and children, found in well-known brands like Tylenol, Excedrin, Sudafed, Robitussin and Theraflu.

@joeyd999 You knew when you signed up for this that any expenses incurred would be your own responsibility. However, if you insist on attempting to collect - I refer you to my lawyers; Dewey, Cheetum & Howe.

Would you have been happier if this were posted in the jokes thread?

The Daniel K. Inouye Solar Telescope has produced the highest resolution observations of the Sun’s surface ever taken. In this movie, taken at a wavelength of 705nm over a period of 10 minutes, we can see features as small as 30km (18 miles) in size for the first time ever. The movie shows the turbulent, “boiling” gas that covers the entire sun. The cell-like structures – each about the size of Texas – are the signature of violent motions that transport heat from the inside of the sun to its surface. Hot solar material (plasma) rises in the bright centers of “cells,” cools off and then sinks below the surface in dark lanes in a process known as convection. In these dark lanes we can also see the tiny, bright markers of magnetic fields. Never before seen to this clarity, these bright specks are thought to channel energy up into the outer layers of the solar atmosphere called the corona. These bright spots may be at the core of why the solar corona is more than a million degrees! This movie covers an area 19,000 x 10,700 km (11,800 x 6,700 miles or 27 x 15 arcseconds).

Tearing Down the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Is an Unacceptable Blow to Cinema History
Interesting tidbit of Hollywood screw ups; The plane shown landing is a MacDonald Douglas DC-10 Series 10 (Domestic only). The plane Frank is seen coming off of is a Locheed L1011. Three things give it away for me - 1) The wing fillets do not have venting doors on them; 2) the DC-10 does not have a wing light on the wing directly adjacent the body, and 3) as they're walking away from the plane you can clearly see the #2 engine - it's NOT the DC-10 configuration, rather, it's the L1011's #2 engine configured with ducting to bring air down into the engine mounted squarely in the tail cone section.
