I'm gonna stick this here......I thought it was weird when I first heard this, but it's really kinda sad.

I had to have a window replaced due to some tree damage. The tech did a superb job....in good time.

As he was leaving he mentioned that this job was a welcome break. We asked him what he meant. He said he hardy ever fixes a normal broken window anymore. I asked him why....and he told us that he spends all his time replacing windows due to gunshots. We couldn't believe it....but he assured us it was true.

Do you remember bout 10 years ago....maybe more......of the audio gun shot detectors to be put in high crime areas? They were suppose to record the time and direction of gunshots. It didn't work out too well on the direction aspect. A multiple echo problem I believe.

Maybe a monthly window count would be a good crime parameter. Not real time.....but shows illegal gun activity.

I certainly didn't know it took a full time tech for gunshots.....in a city this size. Makes me wonder if the crime reporting statistics are accurate.

What better way to celebrate an Oktoberfetst than wearing puke-repellent shoes?

The shoe's exterior is a fall-colored brown and gold with a lederhosen-inspired design, while the interior resembles a classic Oktoberfest checked red-and-white tablecloth. On the side, “Prost” is stitched right above the iconic three stripes, meaning “Cheers” in German.

Get everyone's go-bag loaded. You might be making a fast exit. Be safe out there.

I was going though some health issues about a year ago, so I always had a hospital go bag at the ready. I have been wanting to put a full bag together for sometime now. A good idea for everyone to have around the house for each family member. You never know when an emergency might strike.

Looking at a major firestorm down the river from me (no danger here yet) with the wind blowing at a good clip. The Columbia River Gorge is being evacuated and it's raining ash here almost like snow.

For those not aware Multnomah Falls is just upriver and east of Portland on the Columbia River. If the fire gets down into the gorge, there is a world of hurt coming down.

Hello,

You probably know the wikihow site.
I came accross this:

High heels are typically still considered a woman’s shoe, but gender norms are being pushed in the 21st century, and these days a guy can rock a pair of heels whenever he feels like it. If you’re a man looking for a subtle boost of height, elevator shoes, shoe lifts, or even low-heeled boots are a great choice. For guys looking to strut their stuff in a pair of wedges or even stilettos, practice makes perfect! You’ll start with a low-heeled shoe and stride your way to the perfect walk with confidence to match.

TROUTDALE, Ore. -- Flames from the Eagle Creek Fire have been moving toward the iconic Multnomah Falls Lodge, but it had not seen any fire damage as of Tuesday morning.

Firefighters protected the lodge overnight, while building managers cleared out old paintings and other historical pieces.

Five ladder trucks sprayed foam on the building and doused the surrounding area in water. Portland Fire & Rescue Lt. Damon Simmons said protecting the lodge is a top priority.
