An interesting statement of why 'science' can't be the only factor to make value decisions. Without human physiological considerations a Scientocracy is doomed to quickly become corrosive scientific dogmatism.
Strong, but true, words. Especially coming from one of the most science-inclined people that I know online. ;)

"Costco and several other retailers have reportedly stopped selling Chaokoh brand coconut milk after PETA alleged its farms used monkeys for forced labor.
Other stores that have reportedly dropped the brand after the claims of animal abuse include Stop & Shop, Walgreens, Food Lion, Giant Food, according to USA Today.
The drink's Thailand-based manufacturer Theppadungporn Coconut Co. was accused of using monkeys in Thailand to pick coconuts and keeping them in cruel conditions."

I'll bet the pay was peanuts!

It comes from the sad fact of seeing good people injured and killed due to decisions that were scientifically (facts and figures) justified for X objective at one point in time. Eventually objective X was deemed to be not so important by those same great minds so they died for nothing.
