And now for something weird...

If they have a free pass why do they need any money (even $1.41) trapped in the system forever. They aren’t supposed to be paying a dime for the crossing yet they're receiving huge bills? The E-ZPass account limit for them should be a big, fat zero for that trip. Obviously someone didn't want to alter the software for 'free' transactions so they substituted a add charge, subtract charge system with bogus below balance violations.

Sounds like a intentional misfeature to grab cash.

This morning, I spoke to someone who works at a company that, she said, makes an electric car with 800 HP and goes a documented 209 MPH! (and 220 MPH I guess).
0-220 in one charge, probably.

Actually, electric motors can produce much more starting torque than a gas engine. IIRC, some of the quickest cars have been electric.

I don't know, but I don't think that your calculation is correct.

Their claim is "In normal driving operation, the Genovation GXE delivers a range of more than 175 miles on a full battery charge, delivering on the design imperative of ultra-high performance and efficient daily-driver convenience."...and 0-60 MPH in <3 seconds (and it can produce more than 700 lb.-ft. of torque).

You are saying that you can extrapolate from that to figure out that a one-time acceleration from 0-220 mph takes the same charge as "likely optimal" driving for a distance of 175 miles? Very impressive expected value calculation - can you show the math please or was your point to simply be both critical and extol the torque capability of electric cars?

In either event, I could not get past the ~$750,000 price tag, but thought that it was an interesting development.

The Tennessee Air National Guard colonel who led a re-enlistment ceremony in which a senior noncommissioned officer recited her oath using a dinosaur puppet has been demoted and retired.

Army Maj. Gen. Terry Haston, the adjutant general for the Tennessee National Guard, also announced in a Facebook post Wednesday that Master Sgt. Robin Brown, the SNCO whose videotaped re-enlistment ceremony created a firestorm online, has been removed from her full-time job with the Tennessee Joint Public Affairs Office and is facing other administrative actions.

Good. I'm glad that they all were punished. That's inexcusable. Members of the military, as a group, have access to too much firepower to tolerate people that think their oaths are a joke.
Seems at bit overdone with the punishments. We had guys reenlist in non-traditional ways all the time but only we knew what happened. The CO and XO are in this picture.

Do you have the facts behind the why and, indeed, the what, of this? Perhaps in this PC-crazy world, it might be a good idea to ask those questions before making the judgement that "they are people that think their oaths are a joke".

Not saying I am agreeing with what they did, but those are not ranks that are handed out like candy, and I would want to know exactly what I am looking at before drawing those conclusions.

Plus, it doesn't even make the top 5 https://taskandpurpose.com/weirdest-reenlistment-ceremonies/

I hear what you are saying and I don't know how to phrase it to get my point across. I see that picture and I see a context in which the reenlistment is taking place that makes it, to me, not a joke. I see that picture of her and all I see is someone that is making it a joke.

It's a personal observation and a personal opinion. Even in this PC-crazy world, aren't we still allowed those?

Correct, A Pollywog doesn't joke with King Neptune, his 'queen' and Davy Jones after a night of complete debauchery. It was a military overreaction with careers wrecked worthy of congressional oversight.

The oath is what's IMPORTANT.
