I have a project in which I need to amplify the parallel port data signals a small amount (clean and raise it a bit after running over a short cable)

can anyone recommend a simple way of doing this?

Run them through schmitt gates.

 

Or a buss buffer chip, like a 74HC244.

 

sweet. i was thinking of running it through four 7404's but that would be just retarded

 

netster403, i'm curious, why would you want to amplify the signals?
