Superb example of someone (sometwo) with an idea, the time, the money, and the gumption to accomplish a huge task - a labor of love.

 

What the heck is a pensioner? Beautiful aircraft. Reminds me of a documentary a few years ago where these aircraft machinics tried to restore and fly a B-17 off an ice flow wher it had been for 40 years or so. They had the engines started and was beginning to taxi, when an onboard generator caught fire and burned up years of their hard work. Tragic.

 

I saw that on YouTube.

Pretty gutting.

Although I did think they made some bad spots of judgement.

Pensioners --- retired people on a pension.

There are two flying Lancasters in the world.

 

Yeah, there's only one in the UK, which flies with the BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight).

The other one is in Canada, but I don't know much about that one.
