In aligning the FM section, the first step given in the aligning instructions is to confirm receiving inter-station noise with the tuner set at 108.0 MHz. At that frequency, I hear a station broadcasting at 107.9 MHz loud and clear, even with the antenna disconnected from the receiver. Does this necessarily indicate that the tuner is malfunctioning?
The instructions don't offer any remedy if inter-station noise is not heard.
The receiver appears to adequately receive FM mono, but stereo reception is not functioning at this point.
