Hello all,

Has anyone advice on what type of switch this is, or more to the point a direct replacement part from a supplier, digikey etc? I have a few in mind but want to double check.

the ones with the black top, i need one of these.

This is a PCB for a Series 7 braun shaver, the battery i need to replace also.

No point buying a new shaver when i can fix this up.

any thoughts?

certainly don't need 2,500 pieces

are these difficult to remove (without breaking pads) ? will a solder iron onto the part itself remove it, or do i need a heat gun to take it off?

Heat up two legs at once with the side ofthe soldering iron tip, then GENTLY put a probe under the edge of it and lever it up. If you use force it will rip up the tracks, so use the most gentle levering possible and make sure the solder on those two pins is fully melted.

Then repeat for the other side. After a couple of goes it should be well above the PCB so just remove excess solder and the the part will be removed.

Then clean up the pads with solder wick or a piece of fine stranded wire so the pads are properly dry. That enables the new part to sit at the right height when you solder it on.
