Advice on mating different two-hole lugs

All,

Just wondering if there is any best practice or standards concerning the joining of two slightly different sized 2-hole lugs? I need to join a 6 AWG cable with a 2 AWG cable. This is for a DC traction motor circuit in a special application where the cables can't be upgraded. I was thinking of using Panduit 2 hole lugs, part numbers highlighted below. The stud hole spacing and size are the same, but the width (W) is slightly different. Not to be pedantic, but I've never mated two different size lugs before and just wanted to check if anyone knows of potential caveats here. Thanks!
