Hi

I have an old air compressor that needs new capacitors. One start and one motor run. I’m having trouble getting new replacements with the same values. Is it possible to use a higher voltage rated capacitor? Or do they have to be exactly the same?

Cheers guys FED0D54F-F13A-42DB-908E-4294616B1FE0.jpeg3EBBDCB2-73AD-48BA-A89D-2BE916C755E3.jpeg

Thanks for responding. The motor run capacitor (white one) has to values for volts. DC and AC. Does that have to be similar?
Voltage on a capacitor tells you how much it can deal with. The engineers who selected that capacitor chose a particular voltage. While is is possible that sometimes it reflects excess caution or parts availability, it is not a good idea to choose a lower voltage rating than you find in the absence of other information.

Stick to those values or greater to be safe.
