Fluorine, really? Definitely not my choice for an electrical insulator.

I wonder if by fluorine they mean Teflon.

They are not the same, just as silicon and silicone are not the same. It was sloppy writing and/or translation. As for Teflon insulated wire , it has its uses, but as mentioned, I prefer Kynar, which is a partially fluorinated hydrocarbon.
