Ok, hi all. I want my light to stay on as long as the switch is on but when switch is off, then start the one shot timer to turn off light in approximately 2 minutes. Could someone point me to a schematic diagram of a 555 circuit that does that? Thanks.

Ok want to turn on head lights when ignition switch is on want 555 timer to control 2 min delay when ign switch is off make my old truck like my new car the problem is the 555 timer is so versatile (witch is good) it's acting different then what I want please note I'm not great at electronics just really light to play with them thanks

If you need to start the timer when the ignition is off, you will need a npn transistor to pull the trigger pin low.
